Hair cut

I am pretty proud of the fact that I cut everyone's hair here - except mine that is. Ethan got a hair cut the other day and he looks adorable...

Hard working man

I love a hard working man. Here are some pics of Scott trimming a tree in our backyard.

Daddy Daughter Dance 2010

Olivia looks forward to this night for months. This year she picked out her clothes...the same dress as last year with a too small shirt, hair behind her ears. She was beautiful! She just adores her Daddy and spending time with him. Scott gave Olivia a bouquet of flowers and she was so surprised and excited - her first bouquet! She chose to go to a "fancy restaurant" for dinner beforehand - Applebee's! They had a wonderful time at dinner and having dessert and dancing at the dance. The next day she was too tuckered out to go to school. I am so glad they have these memories and moments to share. Olivia is blessed to have a Daddy that treats her like a princess.

First Lost Tooth!

Olivia lost her first tooth! I couldn't believe how emotional it was for me. I remember when she got her first tooth and now she lost it. She is growing up so quickly. I do need to document the whole ordeal though (she will laugh about this when she is older)...I picked up Olivia from school and upon enetering her classroom I was confronted by a very angry looking little girl. Her arms were folded across her chest and she had a scowl on her face. I asked her what the matter was, at which point she just started crying and thrust her head into my chest. Oh my, I thought, Olivia has had a terrible day. She finally pulled her head up and I could see that her loose tooth was pointed sideways. When I asked her about it she just kept crying. My poor little girl had spent the entire morning at school terrified of losing her tooth. She was miserable. When we got home I tried to convince her to let me look at it and try to get it out. She didn't want any such thing to happen. She wouldn't even close her mouth. She dabbed at the saliva pouring out of the sides of her mouth with a kleenex. It took ONE HOUR of conversation, soothing, understanding, sympathy, and patience to convince her to pull it out. It was of course very easy to do because the tooth was hanging on by a thread. She did it all by herself. We were so proud of her! Now, I hope, she understands what it is like to loose a tooth and won't be so horrified next time.

And one of Ethan, for good measure...

Workshop

This winter I was so lucky to be able to take an online photography workshop. It was completely invaluable and helped me immensely. I loved the mentors and the camaraderie that developed with all of the other attendees. Some of my images from the workshop:

Field Trip

In January Olivia's Kindergarten class went on a field trip to the Grand Rapids Children's Museum. We go there a few times a year thanks to our annual membership from Papa and Grammy. They had a fantastic exhibit about being a veternarian! The kids just loved it! I was in charge of Olivia and her friend Ellie Molewyk.

Justice and Kaitlyn

Over Christmas break we had a sleep over with my nieces Justice and Kaitlyn. Olivia and Ethan just adore them and hang on their every word. We went to the GR Children's Museum and went sledding at Nana's hill. We had a wonderful time! My kids are so blessed to have such fantastic cousins! Justice and Kaitlyn are so smart, loving, and helpful. Can't wait until the can sleep over again!

Great times!
