It all started with Ethan's new underwear, but don't most things around here? :) He just got some new ones with The Incredibles on them - Mr. Incredible and Dash. The kids started racing through the house pretending to be Dash. Somehow they fell and Olivia goes over Ethan and crashes her sweet head into the corner of the wall. Big gash. Lots of blood. Blood is Olivia's nightmare - she hates it. Scott and I immediately realize she will need stitches. On go the clothes (this was at 7:15 in the morning) and we are off to the ER. Olivia was very scared but very brave. Ethan was wonderful the entire time. He hardly made a peep. While she was getting her stitches in she did try to sit up a few times. The nurse was holding her shoulders so she didn't move too much, Daddy was holding her hands, I was shielding her eyes from the big bright light the doctor needed to see, and Ethan was watching the Disney channel. As soon as the last of the 6 stitches was in and bandage on she sat up and said, "I think it's all better now." Frankly, I think she would have said anything to get out of there. On the way home she called Papa, Nana, and Gigi to tell them her story. After we got home Nana stopped over with a balloon for both Olivia and Ethan. After lunch, we went to Family Dollar where Olivia got to choose one thing because I guess that's what we do around here if you get stitches. Of all the toys, candy, and stuff there Olivia chose some large, fluffy, pink kitty slippers. So absolutely adorable and so absolutely HER!

Halloween!
I am finally posting about Halloween! And yes it is the middle of November. I haven't posted sooner because I have been super duper busy setting up my photography business. I am finally a legitimate business ~ Best Nest Photography. My website is finally complete. "Work" takes on an entirely different meaning when you do something that you absolutely love and are passionate about! I highly recommend it. It is so crazy to think that this - having my own photography business - was just a big dream curled up in my little heart for such a long, long time and it is now a reality. Scott has been an amazing help to me and completely and unconditionally supportive. He is with me through every little decision and big blunder. He never would have guessed that he would know so much about photography in all of his life! So that's where I have been and now on to the Halloween festivities...
Olivia has not been able to go to storytime anymore because she is in school every morning, but there was a special evening storytime for Halloween. So I took Olivia and we had a great time. It reminded me of the years past and how long we have been going to storytime and listening to Ms. Lavonne. How fast time is going! Olivia chose to be Ariel again same as last year. And a beautiful Ariel she was.
The next day it was Ethan's turn. We go to storytime every Wednesday morning, just like Olivia and I did. Ethan had a great time at Storytime listening to slightly spooky stories and eating delicious cupcakes! He loves going to storytime anyways but this was extra special. For this event he was a cowboy.
Thanks to a smart Mommy, we carved pumpkins and took pictures outside in costumes on one of the most beautiful October evenings. It was Thursday evening before Halloween and it was about 60 something degrees outside. Scott took the pumpkins outside and got to work. Then the kids got into their costumes and I snapped away - in Michigan you never know when the weather's going to turn so I thought just in case it's bad on Halloween night let's take some pictures now. And thank goodness because Halloween night was very, very cold.
Ethan was having a difficult time deciding what to be - notice the fireman's hat under his cowboy hat...
Olivia/Ariel dancing around...so cute!
I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Olivia's class Halloween party. What fun!
A group of friends got together (moms and kids) on Halloween morning and had a little Fall Fun Party. We had tons of food, the kids played, decorated pumpkins, and even bobbed for apples - without the water! It was a great time and hopefully will become an annual tradition. Ladies?
As for Halloween night, we made our usual rounds to grandparents' homes (except for Nana's because she was in Florida visiting Gigi). Ethan would not put on a costume for this part. Although he did throw on his fireman's hat for a couple of pictures. But he finally did put on a costume when we got back home and were getting ready to go door-to-door trick or treating. This time he put on his special green alien costume from Gigi. It is from the movie "Toy Story." Poor Olivia was so cold she really had to bundle up and you could barely see her costume.
